TICK-BORNE ENCEPHALITIS?
Healthcare in Lithuania is of a formidable standard with numbers of doctors per 1000 people larger than in most western societies. Tick-Borne Encephalitis is the most common vector-borne disease in Lithuania that has resulted in many death and serious life-affects to the victims.
Tick-Borne Encephalitis is written as TBE as its short term. TBE is an inflammation of the brain or meninges that is caused by the tick-borne encephalitis virus named as TBE virus. The virus can be found in humans as well as in animals.
In general, TBE is an inflammation of the brain that damages the nervous system of the brain. The virus is highly contagious that can be transmitted from one person to another by tick bites. In order to remove the transmission of the virus, there’s a vaccine that reduces the chances of up to 95%. People who are planning a trip to a place where the virus is found must be vaccinated.
But if you get infected by chance, remove the ticks as soon as possible to reduce the risk of infection development. The victim can also become safe from tick bites by wearing full sleeve clothes.
Like other diseases, TBE also shows its symptoms. Depending upon these symptoms, the treatment and diagnosis of this disease are performed. TBE virus has several types. Different types show different symptoms and hence require different treatment. The disease shows the symptoms within 7 to 14 days. These symptoms are listed below:
These are the symptoms of the first stage that usually last for 8 to 10 days. The second stage symptoms start with a sudden rise in temperature. The virus starts to affect your central nervous system that can result in Meningitis.
Other symptoms include high temperature, Joint Pain, Aversion to Bright lights, Seizures, Chills, Nausea, Stiff Neck, Inability to Speak, and Inability to Control the Physical Movements.

Tick-Borne Encephalitis is a vector-borne disease so it might be quite hard to diagnose the disease. However, some good diagnosing centers that have very developed medical laboratories can diagnose the disease quite better.
During the first phase of the disease, the most common laboratory abnormalities are a low white blood cell count (leukopenia) and a low platelet count (thrombocytopenia). Contact the Global Patient Transfer team to get an appointment at a world-class hospital near you.
Treatment of Tick-Borne Encephalitis (TBE) requires proper care and hospitalization. There is no specific drug therapy for TBE. Medications and hospitalization are generally used for the removal of drugs. Intubation and Ventilator support may be necessary. But unfortunately no specific treatment of TBE is available. Just try to control the affects the symptoms, it will be okay.
